In 2021 I was honored to receive this scholarship after submitting an application along with students from across the country. I had to submit a portfolio of my work, my high school transcript, and an essay about the television industry. The scholarship was presented at the 42nd News & Documentary Emmy Awards by Norah O’Donnell. You can see the video from the Academy Awards broadcast by clicking here.

2020 Broadcast Sports Story of the Year

Issued by National Scholastic Press Association · Nov 2020

I received an award for my coverage of Blair High School’s national signing day. As a reporter for Blair’s daily television show I filmed, wrote, and edited a video report about football captains Chris Watkins and Zaire Cooper – both of whom committed to Marist College on the same day. The pair were lauded not just for their on-field ability but their off the field character. It was a surprisingly profound piece that captured both the emotional and physical rewards of playing high school sport.
